If this sounds like you, we'd love to get to know you! We're on the hunt for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, bubbly and creatively charged individual to join our awesome team✨ This is a rare opportunity to join our team as a part-time studio assistant/retail assistant.
This will be a varied role with time in the flagship Mystery Creek Ceramic store in Hamilton East as well as time in the production studio located in Kihikihi.
The role requires three days per week in total, with two days in the store (including Sundays) and one day in the studio.
Roles will vary as needed and include: Professionally answering emails, interacting with customers, developing strong product knowledge, preparing nerikomi clay blocks, slab rolling, tidying mugs for firing, loading kilns and other general studio and shop tasks.
Ideal skills include attention to detail, the ability to work well in a group environment and independently, willingness to learn, and a keen interest in pottery production. Ideally we'd love to take someone on board who has experience in creating pottery pieces, even if only in a beginner class 🍶 If you're keen to learn and expand your skills, we're keen to teach!
