Bisqueware Assorted Mayco

$36.90

Midfire bisqueware is a durable and versatile choice, perfect for a range of functional and decorative pieces. Whether you’re creating bowls, mugs, or other forms, these bisque pieces are ideal for experienced painters and beginners alike, offering endless possibilities for customization.

Firing Guidelines:
Fire bisque to Cone 5 or 6 at medium speed. Place items directly on kiln-washed shelves, ensuring full support during firing. Avoid glazing the bottom of pieces, as they must remain dry-footed. Do not use stilts, as stoneware softens during firing. For accuracy, use witness cones to monitor heat-work.

Glazing Tips:
Decorate with midfire glazes or other compatible products. Adjust glaze applications near the bottom of pieces to prevent runs during firing. Avoid heavy crystal placements near the base, and wipe away excess glaze to maintain clean footed areas. Test finishes to ensure desired results at higher temperatures.

Usage and Care:
These pieces are durable and functional, being safe for the microwave, dishwasher, and oven. To prevent thermal shock, avoid sudden temperature changes (e.g., freezer to oven). For oven use, start with a cold oven and allow pieces to cool to room temperature before refrigeration.

Handling and Inspection:
Inspect bisque upon arrival for cracks or damage. Handle with care, as stoneware bisque is fragile before firing. Refer to our return policy at the bottom of this page for damaged items.
